FKA Twigs and Two Shell have teamed up for a new version of “Talk To Me.”
The new version, which arrived on Monday (March 19), marks Twigs’ first musical appearance in about two years.
“With ‘Talk To Me’, Two Shell and FKA Twigs have created a formula for hard-hitting electronic pop that cuts through the digital noise to reveal an irresistibly emotional heart at its core,” according to a press release. “Expertly synthesised euphoria at its finest, ‘Talk To Me’ sets the stage for a modern club anthem – one that is sure to create moments of joy both IRL and URL for years to come.”
The cover art features Twigs’ face breaking through a nearly indecipherable image, with the members of Two Shell on either side of her.
“Called you just to check you never wanna see me again/I fly high with the hope that you’ll look up/With one chance I just wanna be the one that you love,” Twigs confesses in the song. “Called you just to check you really meant the words that you said/I’m so hurt, embrace myself when I wake up/With one chance I just wanna be the one that you love.”
Two Shell previously shared several versions of the single, including a karaoke version and various efforts featuring vocals from different artists.
